Browsing Pinterest

There are many options to use when browsing Pinterest. Which one is best, depends on the type of search you wish to do. Are you browsing for fun or for business? Do you hope to find a community to sell products and network with or do you just want to look through other profiles and offers?

Keyword Search- This can be used to find a large amount of options. Type in your keyword, for example “facial mask”, and select an option (all pins, people, boards, product pins). The one you pick will depend if you want to purchase a product, engage with others, or collect information.

Browse by Category- You can search for a product or subject by specific category. Visit http://www.pinterest.com/categories to do this as it seems to be a hidden feature on Pinterest.

Use Google- To search for a product or subject area of interest and the trending increase/decreases over time (past month, past year, past 24 hours). The process starts by visiting Google and entering site.pinterest.com “facial mask.” Refer to top right to select option from menu for time frame.

Browse by URL- This allows you to search specific URLs and the pins they are posting. To do this for example on peachandlily.com, on your browser type http://www.pinterest.com/source/peachandlily.com/

The key to pining and repining is your ultimate goal. What do you want to accomplish and who do you want to attract the attention of?
